Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur & Fabulous Read

Did you ever meet someone and just know that meeting them was a life-changing event?  A few months ago, I met Vivian Tenorio at Spark & Hustle.  Upon meeting Vivian, I knew that my life was enhanced in a new way.  Why?  Determined and bright, Vivian is a breath of fresh air from the norm, and a woman I am happy to consider a role model.  Vivian has set a new standard for being a woman entrepreneur/mompreneur, developing a delicious product, AND placing that product on shelves.  Vivian is approachable, real, and compassionate towards budding mompreneurs; truly someone to be admired.

Vivian recently published a book, From Pink Slip to Product Launch in a Weak Economy.  Vivian’s story of determination and success as a woman entrepreneur is a must read for any woman with dreams of starting a business of her own.  The book is an amazingly quick read that immediately grabs your attention.  Vivian’s story is riveting from the beginning to where she is now, which is by no means the end.  Vivian is going to go much further than she already has travelled.

Vivian’s personal story is as much a triumph as the delicious success of her Signature Flan.  A teen mom with nothing more than her GED certification, Vivian worked her way up in several jobs, however, she needed to escape the insecurity of the recession by creating her own destiny.  Taking her family’s flan recipe and perfecting a few sensational flavors, Vivian created Signature Flan. With a small budget and no formal business training, Tenorio achieved what most women dream of – landing the big account!  Tenorio’s tenacity and doggedness landed Signature Flan on Whole Food’s Shelves.

Want to know how Vivian achieved all this?  Read the book, and Vivian will openly discuss both her flan success and fears, which makes Vivian the real deal.  Tenorio is open and approachable in her writing.  Not only will you experience Vivian’s story in the book, but she also includes her favorite little nuggets of information, business terms glossary, and a few sample forms at the end.  This is both an inspirational story and a guide for budding woman entrepreneurs.

Signature Flan is absolutely outstanding (my favorite is the vanilla).  All flavors are a must try! As for Vivian, she truly is a woman in the groove, and I cannot wait to see what she does next!

(I want to stress that I was not compensated or asked to write this review in any way.  These are all my opinions, and reading Vivian’s book was on my to-do list since meeting her.  I can only say that I am so thrilled to have met Vivian and be able to share her book with you.)

Isn’t it great when someone appears like this in your life? Vivian sounds like a great source of inspiration. It’s always good to remind ourselves that if someone else can do it, we can too. I’m always grateful when these amazing role-models show up. Thanks for writing about her Rachel.

This story sounds incredibly inspiring. No matter how well prepared we think we are, or how deep and wide our support system, we can all use the success stories of others. It’s on the list to order.

Rachel, with Mother’s Day Fast approaching, and the delight and inspriation we have all taken in Vivian’s book, I think it only appropriate to back that up with the just released co-authored “Mom Entrepreneur Extraordinaire” not only a great present for working moms but a great opportunity for a Q & A with some of the great authors, like Tammy Tribble. I would love to talk to you more about this great read, so you can share more with your readers!

This book is filled with incredible insight, love, wisdom and a compelling read for all mom entreneurs! As many of you have mentioned, it is indeed great to hear success stories from those who have fulfilled those dreams. We can do it!
