This was a crazy week. One that I felt up and down and everything in between. My boys were at another week of basketball camp which required an insane amount of shuttling around, my mom MOVED from my childhood home, I was hosting an event for TMobile, had previously scheduled a bunch of doctor appointments for the boys, and the heat was rising all week. All in all – just another hot, summer week in the life of a mom blogger.
It could not have been a better week to try out a few phones from TMobile. I had a shiny HTC One S and JB was over the moon with his *borrowed* Samsung Blaze. With all of us having to be in so many different places, it was key to have access to some pretty awesome technology. Like when I needed to pick up the boys from 2 different basketball courts and JB was not picking up the phone, I simply located them using the Family Where app. Oh yeh, I am sneaky.
The Family Where app gave me a huge feeling of confidence in myself and cel phone technology as the mom of 2 tweens. Then, a fellow blogger, Chaton Turner, pointed out a whole separate myriad of uses that I did not think about while at my TMobile open house (Which brings me to the TMobile Safe Summers Event that I hosted). Chaton, who has a little one, said the Family Where app would be perfect for nannies who take little ones out and about. I wanted to go back in time and add this type of technology to when I had little toddlers!
Thank you to my fellow Pittsburgh bloggers and Facebookies who came out to the event where TMobile showcased all their family safety apps. Another favorite was the Web Allowances program in which parents can limit what their tweens can and can’t do on the phone. Genius.
We had food, fun, laughter, hot pink balloons, and PRIZES at the event – what more could anybody want?
Thanks to TMobile for hosting us and showing us smarter ways to use our phone(s).
…And, of course, my sons had to have one more run with the phones. Here is little snippet into a day in the life, filmed by my not-so little munchkins.
Disclosure: I was compensated to host the TMobile Safe Summers Event, but obviously it was a very good match. All opinions expressed here are my own.
If you were at the event, do you have a favorite? If you were not there, do you have a cel phone safety feature that you swear by?
