Today is my birthday. Henry will tell you I have been celebrating for weeks. In fact, that is what I do…Anything I purchase from mid-September to late October is for my birthday. Rationalization Alert.
Anyway, the day is here. Today I am officially 38 years young. That is precisely 2 years away from the big 4-0. Henry and I just returned from a few days in NYC where we combined some work and some fun and lots of celebrating. Celebrating means eating for me, so yes – I ate a lot.
I shopped a
little also a lot. It is NYC after all. But, the most important realization of the weekend was my amazing family that surrounds me. My mom hosted the boys while we were away, my cousin Ed shuttled to and from football, my cousins Eric and Christina took me to a deliciously fun dinner in NYC, and back on the home front, my aunt Barb drove playdate runs while my boys let the dogs out for their potty breaks.
While, I did grab souvenirs for the boys and my gorgeous baby cousin, Emma, I thought to myself, other family ties are what matters. I could never do half of what I do without my family, and life would be empty without them.
So this birthday, I celebrate my family. There is nothing more rich or beautiful than having all of them in my life and they are worth more than the whole shoe department at Bergdorf’s. Seriously.
…and, I already had my cupcake(s)!
