When the holidays are over and we return to earth after visiting or hosting family AND school goes back in session, many of us moms have just enough time to take a deep breath and hit the road running. No, not really running (although, I wish), but back to the grind…..Putting our houses back together, returning to work and deadlines, and often – Traveling. January ushers in conference season and the return of traveling for many working women. There is networking to be done, connections and learning to be facilitated, and nights spent alone in a hotel room with no one yelling MOM (Ok, that one is not so bad).
In anticipation of heading to a number of conferences and meetings in 2013, I decided to put together a teeny, tiny wish list of items that would make any traveling mom smile.
Without any further waiting, The 2013 Groovalicious Gotta Gets for the [Busy] Mom on the Road:
I never leave home without a scarf or wrap. Not only does it bring a splash of color to your outfit, but those hotels and conference centers are always COLD (come on, you are thinking it – men run those thermostats). I love this cashmere wrap from J. Crew, and since I am digging green this season…..I like this one.
These cherry red luggage tags make perfect stocking stuffers and also make luggage more recognizable. They are double-sided, handmade, and also available in other colors on Etsy if red doesn’t do it for you.
I do try to grab some yoga when I am on the road, and I have to say. I don’t like to rent a mat. I also like to stretch in my room, and guess what – I don’t like laying on the floor either. The Lulu Lemon Unmat is perfect to roll or fold up in your suitcase and go. They call this color Raspberry Glo, but I call it BacknGroove-Pink.
Another small (but might) stocking stuffer. I cannot leave home to go anywhere let alone travel without a big blush brush. This retractable one from Sephora is all you need for powder, blush and bronzer.
Ok, I really wanted one of these last year and I did not get one (hint, hint). I love these custom iPhone cases from Casetagram (available for many versions of the iPhone and iPod touch) using my very own Instagram photos. I am making it easy on Henry, I already designed one.
When Jenny from the Blog and I were roommates, we discovered we both had a few too many Too Faced eye shadow collections. Why not? They make the perfect travel palettes with all you need in one easy to use tray! This natural one here would work for almost any skin tone, and it is a great jumping off point?!?!?
There you have a few of my top, groovalicious picks. I had to force myself to stop, but I am thinking there will be a part 2.
